VISIONPeace and prosperity in the 21st century depend on increasing the capacity of people to think…
A key component of the U.S. government’s development program in Indonesia is training. The support for both short and long-term exchange opportunities continues to be powerful tool in helping individuals, organizations, and institutions acquire the knowledge, skills, and capacity to support Indonesia’s on-going development.
The USAID Scholarship PRESTASI (Program to Extend Scholarships and Training to Achieve Sustainable Impacts) Program provides opportunities for Indonesians to earn master's degrees from selected universities in the U.S. or Indonesia. PRESTASI II is open to all Indonesians who meet the requirements.
Target participants for the PRESTASI II program are:
The goal of PRESTASI II is to improve the performance and leadership skills of Indonesian professionals, which, in turn will promote development in Indonesia. PRESTASI II will provide training and technical services required to strengthen and expand the base of skilled, high-performing professionals and institutions in Indonesia’s public and private sector.
PRESTASI will continue to support the tradition of participant training and human capacity development by providing opportunities to earn advanced academic degrees in the U.S. and Indonesia. The program will build on the successes of the program that preceded it, which provided 162 participants short-term opportunities and 159 participants longer term opportunities for Masters Programs in the U.S., Indonesia, and other countries.
While Indonesia has the opportunity to compete more aggressively in the global market, the country still faces challenges and needs to examine and successfully deal with its internal constraints to growth. These challenges have delayed the country’s transformation, yet there are opportunities to target the root causes of these challenges to foster and growth and advancement. USAID's PRESTASI Program is a dynamic program that will promote development of professionals who will contribute to Indonesia’s economic success.
PRESTASI II is an innovative, second-generation participant training program which promotes the development of professionals who will contribute to Indonesia’s economic success. USAID and Indonesia have combined support for training and technical services required to strengthen and expand the base of skilled, high-performing professionals and institutions in Indonesia’s public and private sectors with substantial follow-up support to returning participants.
